AT THE INTERSECTION OF LIFE AND WRITING

Would you not like to try all sorts of lives — one is so very small— but that is the satisfaction of writing — one can impersonate so many people. (Katherine Mansfield)

I love that quote and it reminds me of this one about Virginia Woolf from the movie, The Hours.

Your aunt is a very lucky woman, Angelica. She has two lives. She has the life she is leading and also the books she is writing.(Vanessa, The Hours)

Ah, 'tis true!

Writers are the luckiest people.

This clip from The Hours includes a discussion about the interplay of real life and writing fiction.

I need to watch this movie again.
