A CANDID PHOTO TO MAKE MY DAY!

Fan mail is always sweet but when it comes with a candid shot of a reader with book in hand?

Delectable!

This reader is Sydney who I've never met.  But obviously, I love her!

In the words of her mom:

"Sydney is 10 years old and in the 4th grade. She was introduced to BLUE by her 3rd grade teacher. She just finished reading the book for the third time and is very excited about starting the sequel, COMFORT."

Thank you, Sydney's mom for sharing that!  Some days authors feel as if their stories are no longer being read.  A little proof to the contrary goes a really long way.

THANKFUL THURSDAY: Blue on "Audio"

My book Blue is not on audio and, as far as I know, there's none in the works. I'm not sure why because I've given some actress the perfect opportunity to use her southern accent!

But I am encouraged by an email I received this week from Deb who lives in England. In the course of our conversation, I discovered that Deb does not have a copy of Blue in hand but she does have a good literary minded friend in the US who read the whole thing to her over the phone!

As she said, she has a really good phone package.

But still, I am quite blown away by the image of two people with phones to their ears - one reading Blue and one listening. And both crying. Or laughing as the case may be...

This story makes me want to do both.
