What do you think? Do these colors go together?
Last Thursday I spoke at the annual conference of North Carolina School Library Media Association. When I walked in for my first session the lovely Leah Robertson was waiting to help me set up. Leah is a media specialist at Perquiman's Middle School.
Don't you love that word - Perquimans? I confess, I had forgotten NC had a Perquimans County. (It's been a few years since Mr. Seitz and 7th grade Social Studies.)
I gave the same session twice - "From Feeling BLUE to COMFORT"- a picture-laden PowerPoint of BLUE and its sequel (May '09). There were familiar faces in the audience.
Like Renee Cameron pictured with me here in Raleigh in January.
And new faces too - like Pam Jackson!
I was pleased to sign books right next to Julia Ebel whose new poetry book Dresses, Dreams, and Beadwood Leaves is worthy of a blogpost in itself. More on her later!
And of course there was the awesome Adam Rex winner of North Carolina Children's Book Award for Frankenstein Makes a Sandwich.
Adam is a very funny guy - and most deserving of the award. And he deserves much more than a few lines at the end of a post so I will be back with my impressions and some interesting pics.
