ROTARY INTERNATIONAL: Ridding the World of Polio

This vintage photo from the "Miracle of Hickory" polio hospital shows that Rotary Club of High Point provided us with an iron lung during our 1944 epidemic. (photo compliments Catawba County Historical Association)

Today I'll be speaking to the Rotary Club in nearby Taylorsville about my book, BLUE. I like speaking to Rotarians because they've done so much to rid the world of polio.

According to Rotary of Honesdale, PA website there are only 4 countries in which polio is now endemic - Nigeria, Pakistan, India, and Afghanistan. Rotary's PolioPlus program is a giant force in this grand endeavor!

This brief video says it all! Enjoy!

Thanks, Rotary International!
